stepvideo vs Supademo

stepvideo.ioSupademo

This comparison narrowed in 2026. Supademo's centre of gravity is still a clickable replica a prospect drives themselves, but it now lists a screen recorder, MP4 export and SOP guides too, so the outputs overlap more than they used to. The remaining difference is which artifact the product is built around.

Before the table: when Supademo is the right call

Supademo is an interactive product demo tool. There are jobs it does better than we do, and this is the list. If you recognise yourself on the right, we'd rather you went and used it than churned in month two.

Pick stepvideo when…

  • The audience needs to be taught a procedure they'll then do in the real product — watching beats clicking a replica.
  • The recording is the artifact, not a by-product: you want the take itself edited, rather than a replica assembled from captured screens.
  • You want the zooms and step boundaries decided from the clicks you made, rather than placed by hand afterwards.

The claims on our side are all specified. Read the edit rules

Pick Supademo when…

  • You're doing top-of-funnel sales demos where letting a prospect click through themselves converts better than a video.
  • You want the demo embedded in a landing page as an interactive element.
  • You need to swap names, logos and data per prospect — Supademo lists AI text personalisation and AI data editing.
  • You want a demo-shaped free tier to start on; Supademo lists 5 demos free.

What you get

One take. Three things to hand over.

One pass produces the video, the written guide, and the share page.

The edited video

Zooms on your clicks, dead time compressed, mistakes cut, voiceover and word-by-word captions — 1080p.

Recording bar reading 'Recording screen 00:10' over a Google Slides deck, with the presenter's webcam in the corner of the slide

A written guide

The same steps, numbered, each with a screenshot from your recording. Print, paste, or publish.

A page of a generated guide: 'Step 01, Navigate to Mautomate', two numbered instructions and the step's screenshot, with a text formatting toolbar above it

A share page

Every render gets a page that plays the video — public, or unlisted for link-only access.

Share dialog with Public access switched on, 'Anyone with the link can view', a stepvideo share link and a Copy link button

Questions

stepvideo vs Supademo, asked plainly

Interactive demo or video — which should I actually make?

Rough rule: if the viewer's next action is to buy, an interactive demo lets them feel the product and usually wins. If the viewer's next action is to do the thing themselves in software they already have, a video with zooms and narration teaches it faster. Sales motion versus support and onboarding.

Does stepvideo make interactive demos?

No. The output is a rendered MP4, a written guide and a share page. If you need a clickable replica, that's a different product and Supademo is one of them.
